From under her jumbled hair
sparkles beguiling eyes
looking for plots and intrigues
searching for fun and hugs
Dimpled smiles disclose
just a little girl with a big idea
tumbling from one room to another
trading partners like toys and imagination
Dancing to any song real or imagined
she wriggles and twerks with abandon
so un-self aware that her ordinary
is extraordinarily footloose and free
So jump, skip, leap, or spring
It makes no difference what you do;
you are a Hopeful spot in our day,
and you twinkle and twirl us with delight.
In celebration of my granddaughter’s first birthday; during the Covid Pandemic!
What a great poem. Congratulations Rusty, she’s beautiful! Hope you’re having a great time with family through this.

Thanks. We had a great visit earlier in the year before Covid shut everything down. Continue to be well.
